Results Day 2023 FAQ

When will I receive my results? 

AS, A Level and Level 3 Vocational and Technical qualifications results day is Thursday 17 August. 

GCSE and Level 1 & 2 Vocational and Technical qualification results day is Thursday 24 August. 

How will I receive my results? 

Information about how to access your results will be emailed to your college email address at the start of August. 

If you are contacted about coming to college to collect your results in person, please read the instructions in your email carefully to ensure you arrive at the correct time and location. 

If you are told that your results will be emailed to your college email address, these will be sent after 8:30am on results day. You should not come to college to collect your results in person as these will not be available. 

Certificates will be issued by the awarding body in November 2023 and will be posted to your home address as soon as possible after they arrive at college. 

What do I do if I cannot access my email account? 

Contact IT Support at as soon as possible. 

What do I do if I have a question about my results? 

If you have a question about what your results mean for your next steps and want to speak to a member of staff, your first point of contact should be the Information and Guidance team at Advisors will be available to speak to you over email and via Live Chat on our website. 

You can also contact if you have a query about post-results services or resits. If you are collecting your results in person, there will also be staff available on results day to speak to. 

What is my next step if I have applied to Higher Education? 

If you are progressing onto Higher Education, you will be able to see information about your university application on UCAS from around 8:15am on the 17 August. There is further information about Higher Education applications from UCAS here.

I would like to appeal my grade, what post-results services are available? 

You should first speak with a course tutor about your results and options. They will be able to provide help and support in understanding your next steps. 

If you think there has been a mistake in the marking of your exams, you can request a review of the marking or clerical re-check of your exam paper. 

  • Review of marking

A second examiner will review the exam paper again to identify marking errors and ensure the mark scheme has been applied correctly. This service includes a clerical re-check. Exam boards will aim to complete A Level and GCSE reviews within 20 calendar days. 

  • Priority review of marking

This is the same as a review of marking but is processed faster. You can request a priority review of marking if you are depending on the outcome of the review to secure a higher education place. You should inform your intended higher education provider that you have requested a review of marking. Exam boards will aim to complete A Level priority reviews within 15 calendar days. 

  • Clerical re-check

A clerical re-check of a marked exam paper includes checking:

- All parts of the exam paper have been marked

- All marks have been counted/recorded correctly

- The grade boundaries have been applied accuratley 

A clerical re-check takes up to 10 working days. 

Access to scripts 

You can request the 'access to scripts' service for a copy of your exam paper to use for teaching and learning. Do not choose this service if you have not yet requested a review of marking, clerical re-check or appeal but would like to, as enquiry about results cannot subsequently be made. 

Priority access to scripts 

You will be sent a copy of your exam paper to help you decide whether to request a review of marking/clerical re-check. 

Exam boards will aim to return priority copies of A Level exam scripts by 7 September and GCSE exam scripts by 14 September. 

This service is not suitable for students with higher education places pending (if this applies to you, we advise you go straight to a priority review of marking). 

You must be aware that by requesting a clerical re-check or review of marking, your final subject grade/mark awarded may be lower than, higher than, or the same as the results which were originally awarded for the subject. 

Each awarding body charges different fees for each service, please contact for more information. 

If you would like to request a post-results service, email as soon as possible after you receive your results. The college is unable to accept requests after the deadlines below.
