What You Will Study
On our Land and Wildlife Management Level 3 course you will learn to build practical skills, apply ecological principles, and sharpen your species identification abilities in real-world settings.
You’ll learn how conservation strategies are implemented on the ground, understand the challenges faced by professionals in the sector, and see how your skills can contribute to preserving biodiversity and enhancing habitats.
This is a course designed not just to teach, but to inspire and prepare you for a meaningful career in environmental stewardship.
This qualification also offers a unique opportunity to explore career pathways across a wide spectrum of voluntary, governmental, and environmental organisations. Through engaging estate visits to sites managed by respected bodies such as the National Trust, Broads Authority, Natural England, and various Wildlife Trusts, you’ll gain first hand insight into how these organisations protect and manage our natural landscapes.
Entry Requirements
You will need to achieve four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English language and maths.
How You Will Be Assessed
You will be assessed during classroom sessions and when undertaking practical activities. Exams can be sat in spring and summer, synoptic assessment in the spring within the awarding body's designated window. Practical observations, unit assignments, individual projects and short tests and quizzes will keep you on track.
Course Progression
Successful completion of this course at Merit will allow you to progress on to the Extended Diploma, one year duration. You may then wish to progress on to a degree level course or Apprenticeship in a related subject. Alternatively you may gain employment in the industry.
Where Your Course Can Take You
You could work as a Wildlife Ranger, Warden, Gamekeeper or Pest Control to name a few.
Fees
