Summary
The qualification is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to gain employment within the Arboricultural, Forestry, Woodland management and Environment sector. Skills are developed in classroom sessions, practical participation, site visits and real-life work scenarios. The course is made up of a selection of both practical and theory subject units. All subject units build upon and complement each other so students are always progressing. Subjects covered include, Tree Inspection and Surveys, Advanced Arboricultural Skills, Plant and Soil Science, Chainsaw operations, Tree Establishment and Aftercare alongside a common core that develops learners knowledge of the wider landbased industry and develops the soft skills required for employment in the industry.

Progression
On successful completion of this course you may wish to progress on to a degree level course or Apprenticeship in a related subject. Alternatively you may gain employment in the industry.

Fees
If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over please contact the Advice Shop
