What are the courses about?
You will learn about conservation, biodiversity, ecology and wildlife habitat management and the wide range of careers available in this area.
What will I do as part of the courses?
Courses will develop your skills in a broad range of areas in land & wildlife management. You’ll develop both ecological principles and practical skills, including tractor driving and machinery, wildlife and conservation and forestry. You’ll gain practical experience and real experience of work with employers as part of work experience.
To find out more about this diverse sector, you’ll take part in trips and visits to estates, country parks and wildlife parks. This includes those managed by wildlife trusts, the National Trust and Broads Authority.
You can progress to higher level study, an advanced apprenticeships and degree and higher education courses in ecology and conservation management.
Lots of career options are available in a variety of roles. This includes becoming a countryside ranger, environmental education assistant or ecological consultant.
