What You Will Study

This hands-on, practical course is designed to give you a strong foundation for progression into further education or employment in the land-based and environmental sectors. Whether you're looking to build a career in countryside management, horticulture, or conservation, this course equips you with the essential skills and knowledge to take the next step.
You’ll develop a broad range of practical and technical skills through engaging, real-world learning in areas such as:

Floristry Techniques – Explore creative floral design and arrangement, ideal for those interested in artistic and commercial floristry.
Woodland Management – Learn how to care for and manage woodland environments sustainably.
Plant Production – Gain hands-on experience in growing and maintaining plants.
Estate Maintenance – Build practical skills in maintaining rural estates, including fencing, machinery use, and land care.
Wildlife & Habitat Conservation – Understand how to protect and enhance biodiversity through effective habitat management.

Entry Requirements

Achieve 3 GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English Language and maths.

How You Will Be Assessed

Assessment is through a range of practical and written assessments. On top of this, you will also have to complete two externally set multiple choice exams.

Course Progression

Level 2 Diploma's in Land based engineering, Floristry, Agriculture, Horticulture or Land and Wildlife Management. Apprenticeships are also available.
