What You Will Study
During this five session course, you will learn the skills and techniques required with the heritage craft of willow basketry, where each session you will take home what you have made in group.
You will cover:
Week 1 - introduction to working with willow - making a tension tray
Week 2 - frame baskets - making a berry picking basket
Week 3 - garden structures - making a plant support
Week 4 - stand and stake baskets part one - making a basket base
Week 5 - stand and stake baskets part two - making an asymmetric hand basket
You will leave the course having made a tension tray, a berry picking basket, plant support and a asymmetric hand basket!
You will need to purchase secateurs and a small shop knife - more information about this will be provided once you have booked.
This course will run on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 9pm.
