Further Education Student Accommodation
Our residential accommodation is available to students on Level 2 and Level 3 courses. The main purpose of our accommodation is to remove any barriers for those wishing to study on a specialist provision, primarily Land-based courses. Priority is currently given to those students on a Land based course.
Our accommodation provides a safe and caring start to independent living. It may be your first time living away from home and our student accommodation will allow you to enjoy your independence in safe, welcoming and sociable surroundings.
What's included in residential accommodation?
We provide a semi-independent facility to students aged 16 - 18 years old, while we do accept applications from students aged 18 and above, acceptance is on an individual basis and at the discretion of the Residential Welfare Leader and Head of Student Services.
All rooms contain a bed and mattress, a desk, a chair, a wardrobe, a hot and cold tapped sink, plenty of storage space, a set of curtains, a waste paper basket, a single vanity mirror and light and a good-sized pinboard for organisation. All rooms are centrally heated at no extra cost.
Other facilities and services include:
- three meals per day over 5 days
- daily corridor cleaning and bin change
- weekly room clean
- free parking
- a team of Residential Assistants to support your needs
- a common room fitted with computers, pool table, TV, games console and comfortable seating areas
- clothes washing and drying facilities
- Minibus trips and activities throughout the week
Please note, bedding, pillows and towels are not provided.
Making your space your own
We want you to feel at home and relaxed in your own space. You can create your own spaces within your rooms by using posters, photos, books, games consoles and computers. These are all perfect accessories to bring along to help you settle and feel at home.
Facilities and activities
The College boasts some excellent facilities to keep you active and entertained. This includes our Tennis Centre, gym and fitness centre and 3G pitch.
In residence, we offer free daily activities and trips away to fun places. Activities in our calendar include: paintballing, go-karting, swimming, football, tennis, basketball, cooking, film nights, city trips and regular trips to the local supermarket.
Accommodation costs and payment plans
Further Education students
£150 per week on a 36-week contract (total cost £5,400). The contract relates to academic weeks and rooms will need to be vacant outside of term time.
We offer two payment options:
- Option 1 - Total cost paid at the start of term (September)
- Option 2 - Three equal termly instalments (September, December and March)
Deposits of £200 are required on application to cover the cost of damages and losses to student accommodation and property.
Apprenticeship students
The cost of the room is £33.50 per night inclusive of all meals. The college will send an invoice for the number of days occupancy expected for the year. The total fees can be paid either in full, in three equal termly instalments or in eight equal monthly instalments.
