Summary

This course is suitable for anyone wanting a career in the animal care and management sector. During the two-year programme, you will learn the core knowledge and skills needed for entry to a range of animal care and management occupations including zookeeper, animal care worker, assistance dog trainer, dog handler and animal technician. The course includes as a minimum, working with an employer on an industry placement.

Entry Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, to include English, maths and science.
  • Completion of a taster day

You will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:

Objective

In addition to the core content, you will also complete at least one module of occupation-specific content. The specialisms available in the Animal Care and Management T Level are:

Assessment

Assessment is varied and will include externally set exams, course work and employer set projects.

Fees

This course is designed for students aged 16-18 and no fee is payable if the student meets the age and residency criteria.
