What You Will Study

Agronomy is a part of agriculture that focuses on the science behind soil management and crop production and is continually changing as technology evolves and legislation and regulations continue to be developed and improved. Every farm is unique with different rotational plans and environmental commitments being met with different challenges.

Agronomists are trained to provide farmers with advice on dealing with these challenges. They will advise on important crop management decisions including agricultural information about soil fertility, crop management and pest control. This includes taking into account of changing conditions such as temperature and water and nutrient availability with the overall aim of producing optimum yields while protecting the natural environment.

This is an excellent course for those considering agronomy and crop management as a career, crop managers and farmers who want to improve their skills and understanding and spray operators keen to enhance their effectiveness.

The course starts 9th February 2026. (Training Dates 09/02/2026, 10/02/2026, twilight crop walks, 18/03/2026, 08/04/2026, 29/04/2026, 20/05/2026, 10/06/2026)
