Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated gardener with garden and grounds maintenance, kitchen garden and herbaceous experience to join our friendly team.

We are seeking a candidate who is looking to enjoy the lifestyle of supporting a private estate.

You will be in control of the yearly planting schedule, propagation and cyclic maintenance of a well-established private garden and grounds of 25 acres.

You will be responsible for working with the owners and manager to maintain and update garden plans and sowing books with particular emphasis on sustainability and heritage.

Hardworking, good health and able to work well within part of the team are desired.

Full-Time, Permanent.

Hours

Tuesday to Saturday 08:00 to 16:30 (wintertime) and 08:00 to 17:30 (summertime). Live-out position.

Special requirements

General:
- Good all-round gardening experience.
- Attention to detail combined with good plant knowledge (especially the caring of a large kitchen and herb garden plus fruit trees).
- Organisational and leadership skills to plan and organise daily, weekly and monthly tasks for your team.
- Proficient in all garden maintenance tasks (including, but not limited to, mowing, hedge cutting, pruning, weeding, planting and plant usage).
- Previous experience in the use and basic maintenance of garden machinery.

Desired:
- Tractor Driving Licence; Spraying Licence (PA1 and PA2); Chainsaw Licence (CS30).

Essential:
- Driving Licence due to location.
