What You Will Study
As a leading agriculture college, you will learn on our 160-hectare operational commercial farm, consisting of arable fields, grazing meadows and woodlands. With cattle, pigs and sheep also on campus, you will gain hands on experience of crop production, farm management and animal husbandry.
This two-year T Level in Agriculture combines classroom-based study with industry experience, providing you with the technical knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours needed for a career in the agricultural sector or progression to higher-level study. Throughout the programme, you will develop your understanding of key areas including sustainability, health and safety, business and finance, technology, equipment, ethics and modern agricultural practices.
You will gain experience in planning agricultural production and managing farm businesses, raising and managing livestock, and growing, harvesting and managing crops. The course also develops your understanding of budgeting, working with suppliers and customers, maintaining farm machinery and equipment, and implementing health, safety and biosecurity standards. Practical learning will include supporting animal husbandry activities such as breeding and lambing, maintaining farm infrastructure, and understanding how farming practices interact with habitats and the wider environment.
You will learn to operate the latest agricultural machinery, ensuring you are well-prepared for the demands of modern farming. Additionally, you will experience cutting-edge technology with spray drones for precision agriculture and tractor simulators for safe and effective machinery operation.
We have great links with the Food and Farming Discovery Trust and the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group, among others. We also provide enrichment opportunities alongside your course, including taking part in the Royal Norfolk Show and visiting the Lincolnshire Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Association (LAMMA) show.

Entry Requirements
- Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English language and maths.
How You Will Be Assessed
You will be assessed through a combination of externally set and marked components to ensure your knowledge and skills meet industry standards.
This includes:
- Two externally set and externally marked exams covering core knowledge and concepts.
- One externally set, externally moderated assignment focusing on applied understanding.
- An externally set and moderated synoptic assessment, where you’ll demonstrate your practical and theoretical skills across real-life scenarios.
- 315 hours of industry placement – gaining hands-on experience in professional settings over the two years.
Course Progression
On successful completion of the course, you could progress onto an agricultural degree or move directly into employment.
You could go onto study a range of higher education options such as an Agriculture Foundation Degree, BSc (Hons) Agriculture, or specialised degrees like Agriculture with Animal Science, Business Studies, or Countryside Management. These courses can help you build deeper knowledge and open up exciting career paths in the agricultural industry.
Where Your Course Can Take You
This qualification will expose you to the whole industry, and the opportunities within it. On completion, you could enter the industry by working for a farm business, or as a farming contractor. As you will have gained a breadth and depth of skills and knowledge over a very wide range of units, you could progress within work to become a herdsperson, shepherd/ess, contractor (livestock) assistant poultry unit manager (livestock pathway) or contractor (crops), agricultural technician, fixed plant manager and sprayer operator (arable pathway).
